Roadmap and History of FabGoalie AI
Since 2021, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) and Fu Hsun Fiber Industries have been collaborating on the development of FabGoalie AI. The system has matured into a turnkey-ready solution suitable for deployment in modern fabric production facilities.
On this page, you will find an overview of the system’s development history and a summary of key milestones. For the latest updates and details on the current version, visit the FabGoalie AI page.
FabGoalie AI Prototype V2 Launch at TITAS 2025
A new prototype is currently under development and will be officially launched at the Taipei Textile Exhibition (TITAS) 2025 in Taipei, Taiwan. Visit our booth from October 14–16, 2025, at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center.
Compared to the first prototype, this new version includes several upgrades. It features improved optical marking for faster and more accurate detection of fabric edges, improving both precision and defect handling.
Additionally, it introduces a color variation detection feature to identify inconsistencies across different sections of the fabric.
First Media Coverage of FabGoalie AI in Textile Network
We are excited to share that FabGoalie AI has been featured in a byline article about AI in fabric production in Textile Network, a leading international magazine for the textile industry, published in both German and English.
The full article appeared in the second print issue of Textile Network in 2025. You can find a n online summary here or access the digital version through the official Textile Network website.
FabGoalie AI Leaves the Concept Stage in 2024
Fu Hsun Fiber Industries showcased a fully functioning prototype at its booth during TITAS 2024. In a live demo, FabGoalie AI demonstrated its ability to detect six types of defects, including oil stains, color stains, false yarn, holes, broken or hooked yarn, and wrinkles.
Since then, the system’s capabilities have expanded, but the launch of the first prototype was a major milestone and a key success. The tests confirmed that FabGoalie AI can be seamlessly integrated into existing fabric production lines. That same prototype is still in operation, constantly learning and improving its detection accuracy.
