Roadmap and History of FabGoalie AI
Since 2021, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) and Fu Hsun Fiber Industries have been collaborating on the development of FabGoalie AI. The system has matured into a turnkey-ready solution suitable for deployment in modern fabric production facilities.
On this page, you will find an overview of the system’s development history and a summary of key milestones. For the latest updates and details on the current version, visit the FabGoalie AI page.

AATCC Review features FabGoalie AI
AATCC Review features FabGoalie AI in the 5th issue this year. Sandy from the FabGoalie AI team spoke about our AI innovation for the fabric industry.
The article summarizes FabGoalie AI’s contribution compared to other solutions as follows:
“FabGoalie AI is not just a static inspection tool, but a system that aims to combine defect detection and mapping, image record-keeping, and inspection reporting into a more complete framework that can be adapted to different fabric types, defect categories, and production environments.”
The article is available to subscribers in the 2026 September/October issue of AATCC Review.
The American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) is a nonprofit organization that has been serving the global textile industry and its professionals since 1921.
We are honored that AATCC took the time to speak with us. The recognition from an independent industry organization motivates us in our mission to bring AI to the fabric industry.
FabGoalie AI At SaigonTex 2026 in Vietnam
The FabGoalieAI team attended SaigonTex from April 8–11, 2026. Among other things, we presented field test results from real production environments. One of our prototypes is currently operating in the CSVN mill near Ho Chi Minh City.
Our models FG1-T2T and FG1-T2R have proven to deliver great value. Our team is grateful for all visitors and the valuable insights.
The Textile Magazine Takes a Closer Look at FabGoalie AI
At TITAS, we had a great meeting with The Textile Magazine, which featured us in both an article and a video. Check out their introduction to FabGoalie AI in the video about TITAS 2025 they produced. You will see our latest prototype in action and gain insights about the major benefits of AI-based defect detection.
If you like to learn more about the technical details, take a look at the full article now available online. Sandy and Ferdinand share insights into how FabGoalie AI works and how it helps make fabric production more efficient. FabGoalie AI Prototype V2 Launch at TITAS 2025
A new prototype is currently under development and will be officially launched at the Taipei Textile Exhibition (TITAS) 2025 in Taipei, Taiwan. Visit our booth L1109 from October 14–16, 2025, at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center.
Compared to the first prototype, this new version includes several upgrades. It features improved optical marking for faster and more accurate detection of fabric edges, improving both precision and defect handling.
Additionally, it introduces a color variation detection feature to identify inconsistencies across different sections of the fabric.
First Media Coverage of FabGoalie AI in Textile Network
We are excited to share that FabGoalie AI has been featured in a byline article about AI in fabric production in Textile Network, a leading international magazine for the textile industry, published in both German and English.
The full article appeared in the second print issue of Textile Network in 2025. You can find a n online summary here or access the digital version through the official Textile Network website.
FabGoalie AI Leaves the Concept Stage in 2024
Fu Hsun Fiber Industries showcased a fully functioning prototype at its booth during TITAS 2024. In a live demo, FabGoalie AI demonstrated its ability to detect six types of defects, including oil stains, color stains, false yarn, holes, broken or hooked yarn, and wrinkles.
Since then, the system’s capabilities have expanded, but the launch of the first prototype was a major milestone and a key success. The tests confirmed that FabGoalie AI can be seamlessly integrated into existing fabric production lines. That same prototype is still in operation, constantly learning and improving its detection accuracy.
